PAST EVENTS
Sea Mills Community Christmas Sing and Send
Despite the very wet weather, we were thrilled to welcome over 120 people to this year’s Community Christmas celebration.
Thanks to everyone’s hard work, we’ve been able to send out more than 60 handmade Christmas cards, tucked into lovely envelopes created by community groups and finished with festive stickers from Sea Mills Primary. These were shared across the community to bring a little extra joy to those who might need it most.
Community Showcase
As part of the Bristol Community Festival we hosted a community showcase on March 29th 2025 to celebrate and champion all that goes on in Sea Mills/Coombe Dingle run by volunteers and community groups. We gave local people an opportunity to discover more about what’s happening in their community, to share their views on community activities, to learn about the area's history, and find new ways to connect.
We created an interactive trail throughout the local area, inviting visitors to explore and engage with community spaces. Trail maps encouraged families and individuals to explore, collecting stamps at each location along the way.
In the afternoon, we hosted a Showcase featuring other Sea Mills and Coombe Dingle projects and initiatives. This was a celebration of organisations and individuals who positively impact our community. These groups/individuals had the opportunity to represent themselves and their work through community stands, demonstrations, exhibits, and displays.
APple DAy
Undeterred by the forecast, hundreds of visitors gathered outside the café to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sea Mills Apple Day. Volunteers of all ages worked together to squeeze over 100 litres of fresh apple juice, available for sampling or purchase for 50p.
The community garden team sold cakes, jams, and chutneys to raise funds, alongside free children’s activities. We were delighted to welcome stands from 126th Scouts, the Community Policing Team, crochet wiz Charli, and the ‘Bee Team’ selling their local honey plus amazing musical entertainment from Severn Whalers and the Drowsy Maggies. This event would not have been possible without incredibly dedicated volunteers. Huge thanks to everyone who donated apples, came along or offered support. The money we raised goes back into community projects and future Apple Day events.
